`Eard-fast'
`Eard-fast’ (A stone or boulder fixed firmly in the Earth)
When I look over the Knoydart landscapes, my imagination draws me to the image of the mythological `Cailleach’, as she created the mountains and large hills whilst striding across the land, and accidentally dropped rocks from her wicker basket. Other folklore suggests that she built the hills and mountains intentionally, to serve as her stepping stones. She carries a hammer for shaping the hills and glens, she is the mother of all the goddesses and gods.
I also see faces in rocks everywhere!
The original is drawn and painted using inks pens, acrylic inks and acrylic paints on A3 watercolour paper.
The prints are of a high resolution scan and printed on Knoydart, using the Canon Pixma pro 10s professional printer and pigment dye inks on 310g Archival matt paper. They are superb quality Giclee
prints, signed and dated on the back by the artist, with the title printed on the reverse side also.
